Project Gotham Racing 4

9 stars out of 10
Jazz Van Net goes under the hood, for an all new review.

Right from the starting line, Project Gotham Racing 4 creates an emotionally-charged racing experience, where you become attached to your careers, profiles, and vehicles. There are several new features that embody this emotional experience, the most significant being the new career mode.

Get ready to be rewarded with a growing fanbase that cheers you on, reacts to your every move, and supports you through victory. Just imagine hearing the roar of the crowd as you cross the finish line with your own style and flair.
REVIEW:
PGR 4 does a number of things well. Once again, the arcade racer puts a focus on earning Kudos for drifts, getting air, and clean racing sections. While the goal is to win races, you'll want to do it in style. If you've played a PGR title before, the basics haven't changed much at all. It's all about drifting, a trick that never gets stale, even on the fifth iteration of the series.

Along with standard races, you'll once again compete in a number of skill events. These include navigating through cone gates, speed challenges that require you to push the speedometer to a certain level when you pass a mark, elimination races, and Kudos challenges that task you with racking up massive Kudos on your way to the finish line. Though there are a couple of new events, for the most part, PGR 4 is more of the same from the past. That's not such a bad thing, since PGR has long been one of the better racers on Xbox.

To spice things up, Bizarre Creations made three significant changes for Project Gotham Racing 4, none of which turned out that great. First, they added motorcycles. Then Bizarre added a new career mode meant to mimic a racing season. The hope, it would seem, was to infuse the series with some new energy and excitement. While the racing season has its plusses and the motorcycles can be fun for a while, both take away more than they add to the series. Lastly, Bizarre introduced a dynamic weather system and, unlike the first two additions, this one actually delivers. The extreme weather variables add quite a bit to the tried and true PGR formula.

PGR 4 pits bikes against cars, having the two racing side-by-side in any event. To its credit, Bizarre did a great job nailing down licenses for some excellent bikes. There are no complaints on the impressive motorcycle list or the faithful recreation of each. Some might expect that a motorcycle could tear up the competition against cars. In a lot of instances, this is true. Bikes are generally easier to handle and, so long as you aren't racing against truly superior cars, you can usually do very well in the single-player events.

Gamer Hint:Weather can effect your car & driving skills.

GUIDE TO HALO 3 ONLINE

Many of the experts in the field of Halo 3 are continually playing Halo 3 online. A lot of you are having many problems with this so I'm out to help.

Groups
*If you ever come across a big online game play, tend not to stay in groups. Stand back, or go around and start killing them all. But beware of others.

Wielding Weapons
*Just because you can double wield doesn't mean you should. Grenades can effect much damage also kill more than one enemy.

Using Weapons
*Heavy Weapons- Never get caught running around with these. There great for vehicle destruction, but not ground enemies.
*The Sword- Everyone loves using this spectacular weapon. This weapon is great for flanks. Use this weapon only for close range attacks.
*Ground Weapons- Anyone weapon from the Assault Rifle to the magnum are great for battle. Not very effective on heavy artillery vehicles but have much effect on enemies.

Using Vehicles
*Tanks- Tanks are awesome for massive land destruction. In this case watch out for tank-busters.
*The Mongoose- Fast for CTF and escapes. Always have a rear gunner on the back.
*The Elephant- Never use for CTF. This "Mobile-base" is slow and requires to many people.
*Land Vehicles- Easy to kill lots of enemies, but easy for instant boarding and explosion.
*Flying Vehicles- Having the height advantage and to fly across anywhere makes flying vehicles great. Just be careful of other enemies in the air or tank-busters.

Who To Stick With
*Best Players- Staying with some of the best players aren't the best way. They will kill all of your kills for you.
*Medium Players- These are the best to hang with there your skill level so you'll get kills. Both of you must try to stay alive because the other wont survive.
*Sucky Players- They will never help you. So you'll have to be the defender.

-I hope this will help you while playing Halo 3 online. If not please post a comment on your topic.-

Final Boss Owns The Competition

Congratz! Final Boss Owns the competition, winning the $100,000.00!

NBA Live 08

NBA ’08 for the PlayStation 3 returns with all the modes stemming from the previous title. As expected, the new version includes updated rosters and a few little tweaks here and there. This year’s game introduces the new Progression System, which uses skill points earned from various achievements to unlock more nicknames, jerseys, attributes, and accessories to customize your created player.

The game features a more in-depth online mode along with slight improvements to the Season, Playoffs, Replay, and Mini games. However, this game still lacks a Franchise mode which is common in most sporting games. After playing through one season, a text will pop up informing you that you won a championship and that’s it. No in-game celebration. No draft. No free agency. NOTHING!

Besides dropping the ball on a franchise mode, the game still lacks the unique NBA Life experience present in the PlayStation 2 version. Sony has had plenty of time to convert this unique athlete simulation into a next-gen version. We can only assume that it will be added next season as a “new” feature.

Bungie Leaves Microsoft

Bungie has been independent since October 1st, although a long-term parternship is in place between the two companies. Microsoft will hold a minority equity interest in Bungie, and the two firms "have forged a deep and long-term development and publishing relationship focused on the continued success of the Halo franchise."

In addition, Microsoft and Bungie said that they will "expand their partnership to include new IP created and owned by Bungie." A new Bungie game/series...? Yessss!

"This exciting evolution of our relationship with Microsoft will enable us to expand both creatively and organizationally in our mission to create world-class games," said Harold Ryan, studio head for Bungie. "We will continue to develop with our primary focus on Microsoft's platforms; we greatly value our mutually prosperous relationship with our publisher, Microsoft Game Studios, and we look forward to continuing that affiliation through Halo and beyond."

"Working with Microsoft was great for us, it allowed us to grow as a team and make the ambitious, blockbuster games we all wanted to work on. And they will continue to be a great partner. But Bungie is like a shark. We have to keep moving to survive. We have to continually test ourselves, or we might as well be dolphins. Or manatees," said Jason Jones, Bungie founder and partner.
